Recruiters often spend less than a minute per document. That&#039;s why it&#039;s so important that your resume immediately highlights the essentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The correct setup<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A modern CV is structured in reverse chronological order. This means: The most recent position is at the top, followed by a reverse chronological list of your career history. The classic order looks like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Personal data, professional experience, education, further training, knowledge and skills, voluntary work or interests (if applicable).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You should be able to manage on two pages. Those just starting out can usually manage on one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Berlin employers particularly value<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Berlin has a diverse job market. Language skills are often a real advantage here, especially in service industries, healthcare, and IT. List them specifically and use a clear classification such as fluent, good knowledge, or basic knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flexibility is also important. If you are willing to work in different districts or do shift work, that&#039;s worth mentioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The most common mistakes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Long, continuous paragraphs don&#039;t belong in a CV. Use short bullet points that show what you&#039;ve done and achieved. Instead of &quot;Responsible for customer service,&quot; write something like &quot;Supported approximately 40 existing customers, increasing satisfaction through a dedicated contact person system.&quot;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another classic issue is unexplained gaps. A break in your resume isn&#039;t a problem as long as it&#039;s explained. Parental leave, caring for relatives, time off for health reasons, or a career change are all legitimate reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The application photo<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A photo is not mandatory in Germany, but it is still often expected. If you do use one, make sure it&#039;s a professional one.
